Where we get it

  • Directly from you: when you call, text, email, chat, fill out a form, request an estimate, book an appointment, sign a contract, or speak with our team on-site.
  • Automatically from your device: through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies described in Section 4, and through our call-tracking and chat systems.
  • From service providers and partners: our customer relationship management system, advertising platforms (aggregate campaign data), financing partners you apply with, insurance carriers and adjusters on claims you ask us to work on, and public property records.

3. How We Use Personal Information

  • To respond to your inquiry and schedule, prepare, and deliver estimates and roofing services.
  • To communicate with you about your project by phone, text message, email, or chat.
  • To send you marketing calls, text messages, or emails about our services, promotions, and seasonal reminders, including by automated technology and pre-recorded messages, when you have checked the consent box on one of our forms. You can opt out at any time.
  • To process payments, financing applications you submit, warranty registrations, and insurance claim documentation.
  • To train our staff, verify the accuracy of communications, and resolve disputes, which is why we record calls (see Section 5).
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Website, and to understand how visitors use it.
  • To market our services, including showing you ads on other websites and platforms after you visit our Website, with your consent where required (see Section 4).
  • To comply with legal obligations, contractor licensing requirements, and lawful requests from government authorities.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by the CCPA, and we do not use personal information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Cookies, Pixels, and Online Tracking

Our Website uses cookies and similar technologies in three categories:

  • Essential: required for the Website to function and to remember your cookie choices. These run without consent.
  • Statistics: Google Analytics and related Google tags that help us understand how visitors use the Website.
  • Marketing: Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags, the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, and LeadConnector (HighLevel) attribution and call-tracking scripts. These allow us to measure our advertising and to show you ads on other platforms based on your visit.

When you first visit the Website, a consent banner lets you Accept All, Reject, or set Preferences. Statistics and Marketing technologies, including our live chat widget, do not load until you accept. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings icon that appears in the lower corner of every page. A full list of the cookies we use is on our Cookie Policy page at roofrecoverysac.com/cookie-policy.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser, and Marketing technologies will not load.

5. Phone Calls, Text Messages, and Chat

Call recording. Calls to and from our published phone numbers, including tracking numbers shown on our Website and in our advertising, may be recorded and transcribed for quality assurance, training, accuracy, and dispute resolution. A recorded message informs you of this at the beginning of each call. If you do not wish to be recorded, please tell us and we will continue by email or unrecorded line, or end the call. Recordings and transcripts are stored in our customer relationship management system (LeadConnector/HighLevel) and are kept for as long as we keep your customer or inquiry record, unless you ask us to delete them.

Live chat. Our Website chat is operated through LeadConnector/HighLevel, which acts as our service provider. Chat transcripts, and any contact information you provide in the chat, are stored in our customer records so our team can respond and follow up. The chat widget only loads after you accept Marketing cookies.

Text messages and marketing calls. We send text messages about your project, and marketing calls, texts, and emails about our services and promotions (which may use automated technology or pre-recorded messages), only to people who have provided their number or email and checked the consent box on one of our forms or otherwise agreed in writing, or in reply to a message you send us. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help. We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text-message opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing.

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

Disclosures for a business purpose (service providers and contractors)

We disclose personal information to companies that work on our behalf under written contracts that restrict their use of the information. In the past 12 months these included:

  • Customer relationship management, call tracking, chat, and text messaging: LeadConnector / HighLevel.
  • Job management, estimating, and document signing: AccuLynx.
  • Website hosting, security, and email delivery: Bluehost, Elementor, and related hosting and email providers.
  • Web analytics: Google (Google Analytics), when you accept Statistics cookies.
  • Payment processing, accounting, and financing: QuickBooks and other reputable payment processors and financing providers we work with from time to time.
  • Subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers needed to perform or warranty your roofing work.
  • Insurance carriers, adjusters, and public adjusters, when you ask us to assist with an insurance claim.
  • Professional advisers, and government or law enforcement agencies when required by law.

“Sale” and “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. However, when you accept Marketing cookies, we allow Google and Meta to collect identifiers (Category A), internet activity (Category F), and inferences (Category K) through their tags on our Website so they can show you our ads on other websites and apps. Under the CCPA this is considered “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and may be considered a “sale.” This occurs only after you accept Marketing cookies, and you can opt out at any time as described in Section 8. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

7. How Long We Keep Personal Information

We keep contact and project information you give us (such as your name, phone number, email, property address, estimates, contracts, photos, call recordings, and chat transcripts) for as long as we operate our business, because roofing warranties, insurance claims, and contractor-licensing and tax rules can require us to refer back to a project many years later. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 8), and we will do so unless a legal exception applies, such as records we must keep for an open warranty, a tax obligation, or a dispute. Website analytics and advertising data are retained for the periods set by Google and Meta (generally 2 to 26 months).

8. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share, and to access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it for purposes beyond those permitted by law).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

How to opt out of sale/sharing (“Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”)

  • Click Reject on the cookie banner, or open the cookie settings icon in the lower corner of any page and turn off Marketing.
  • Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser; we honor the signal automatically.
  • Email [email protected] with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share,” or call 916-678-9786.

Opt-out requests do not require identity verification. If you opt out, we will wait at least 12 months before asking you to opt back in.

How to submit a request to know, delete, or correct

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Phone: 916-678-9786
  • Mail: Roof Recovery, Inc., Attn: Privacy, 5701 Lonetree Blvd., Suite 122, Rocklin, CA 95765

We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days with notice). To protect your information, we verify requests by matching the information you provide (such as name, phone number, email address, and property address) against our records; we may ask for additional information for requests involving sensitive records such as contracts or call recordings. You may authorize an agent to make a request for you by providing signed written permission; we may still ask you to verify your identity directly. You may make a request to know up to twice in a 12-month period, free of charge.

California “Shine the Light”

California Civil Code § 1798.83 lets California residents ask what personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the prior year. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. Requests may be sent to [email protected].

9. Children

Our Website and services are directed to homeowners and property managers and are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and reputable hosting and software vendors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-Party Websites

Our Website may link to financing partners, review platforms, manufacturer warranty sites, and social media. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

12. Accessibility

If you need this Policy in an alternative format because of a disability, contact us at [email protected] or 916-678-9786 and we will provide it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We review this Policy at least every 12 months and will post any updates on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the Policy for 30 days after posting.
