Roof Repair in Roseville

Most roofs we look at in Roseville don’t need to be replaced — they need the right repair in the right spot. About three out of four jobs we do here are tile roof repairs, and the problem is almost never the tile itself. (More on how we fix them on our tile roof repair page.)

Concrete tile lasts a very long time. What wears out is the underlayment underneath it — the layer that actually keeps water out. Once it dries out and cracks, any water that gets past the tiles (wind-driven rain, a clogged valley, a slipped tile) runs straight to the roof deck. That’s when you see a ceiling stain.

What a tile repair looks like: we lift the tiles in the problem area, replace the underlayment and any damaged wood, add new metal where water needs to flow, and put your original tiles back. Your roof looks the same afterward — it just doesn’t leak. Most repairs come with a 2–10 year workmanship warranty.

Recent job: tile roof leak in West Roseville (95747)

Inspection: the leak area outlined in red.

1. The problem

Water was backing up under the tiles along a valley and leaking into the house. At the inspection we marked the problem area so the homeowner could see exactly where the water was getting in.

Tiles lifted: the old underlayment had worn through.

2. What we found

With the tiles lifted, the original felt underlayment in the valley and the field next to it had worn out and torn. Nothing was left to stop the water that got under the tiles.

New 30 lb underlayment, water-flow battens and valley metal installed before reinstalling the original tiles

New underlayment, battens and valley metal — ready for the original tiles.

3. How we fixed it

We installed new 30 lb underlayment, new water-flow battens so water drains instead of pooling behind them, and new 5-crown valley metal so the valley carries water off the roof. Then we put the homeowner’s original tiles back.

Shingle roofs in Roseville

We repair shingle roofs too. A recent inspection in the 95661 area shows the kind of problems we find:

Nails pushing up through a second layer of shingles, circled in red

A second layer of shingles over the original roof. It hides old damage, and the nails don’t hold — here they were pushing up through the top layer across the back of the roof.

Rooftop HVAC unit set on top of shingles without proper flashing, with arrows marking the leak path

HVAC units set on top of the shingles instead of being flashed into the roof, so wind-driven rain blew under the flashing.

Water stain on a ceiling below a leaking rooftop HVAC unit

The result: an active leak and a stained ceiling below the unit.

Our recommendation was honest: a full replacement is the long-term fix for a double-layer roof, but a targeted repair around the leaking unit plus sealing every exposed nail would stop the leak for now. When both options make sense, you’ll get both from us.

Roof Replacement in Roseville

When a roof really is at the end of its life, we replace it — asphalt shingle, tile, or flat roofs. As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor, our new roofs come with a lifetime warranty. If a repair will get you more good years first, we’ll tell you.

Financing: $0 down with low monthly payments, or a 12-month no-interest option. See financing options.

Roseville roofing FAQ

Usually not. Most of our Roseville tile jobs are repairs: we replace the worn underlayment in the problem area and reinstall your original tiles.

It depends on the roof type and how big the problem area is. We inspect the roof, take photos, and give you a written quote the same day — free.

Usually because the unit was set on top of the shingles instead of being flashed into the roof, so wind-driven rain gets under the flashing. It’s a common and very fixable problem.

We don’t recommend it. A second layer hides damage, adds weight, and causes nails to back out — we regularly find it behind leaks on roofs we inspect. We remove the old layers down to the deck.

Inspection appointments are usually available within a few days. After you approve the quote, most jobs are scheduled 2–4 weeks out depending on the size of the job — and if your roof is leaking in the meantime, on most roofs we can install a clear tarp to stop the leak until the work is done.
