Roof Repair in Citrus Heights
Most leaking roofs in Citrus Heights don’t need to be replaced. They need the right repair in the right spot. Most of the Citrus Heights homes we work on have shingle roofs, and the three jobs below are typical: a worn valley, a leak where a flat roof meets the shingles, and a soft spot in the roof deck. We open up only the area that’s failing, replace what’s damaged underneath, and tie new material back into the roof you already have. (More on shingle roof repair, flat roof repair, roof leak repair, dry rot repair and roof repair cost.)
Recent job: leaking shingle roof valley in Citrus Heights (95610)
Before: the repair area around the leaking valley, marked at the inspection.
1. What we found
The homeowner reported a leak near a roof valley on this single-story shingle roof. At the inspection we found nails coming through the shingles in and around the leaking area, worn-away sealant around other exposed nails, and shingles showing their age: cracking, lifting and exposed fiberglass. Several older patches were starting to wear down too.
During the repair: new valley metal over new underlayment, before the shingles went back on.
2. How we fixed it
We removed the shingles and ridge cap shingles in the repair area, checked the plywood once it was open, and installed new underlayment and new valley metal. Then we put down new shingles and ridge cap shingles, sealed exposed nails and the flashing areas that needed it with roofing adhesive, and replaced the damaged shingles we had shown the homeowner in the inspection report.
After: the finished valley repair.
3. The result
The valley repair carries a two-year workmanship warranty.
Recent job: flat roof leak at a vent in Citrus Heights (95610)
Before: the vent where the flat roof meets the shingles, marked at the inspection.
1. What we found
The homeowner had a leak in the laundry room ceiling. Above it, where a low flat roof meets the shingle roof, we found a vent boot that wasn’t installed correctly and had a visible gap, open gaps at the flashing, and exposed nail heads. Each of those is a direct way in for water.
After: new TPO wrapped around the vent flashing and sealed.
2. How we fixed it
We removed the first three rows of shingles and part of the eave vent above the vent we were repairing, then cut out about 50 square feet of the old TPO around that vent and the electrical pole. We installed new TPO, wrapped it around the flashings and sealed it, and put new underlayment on the shingle section.
After: new TPO sealed around the electrical pole, with new adhesive on the clamp.
3. The result
We put new adhesive on the clamp around the electrical pole, reinstalled the eave venting and the closest-matching shingles, and caulked every exposed nail on the roof. The repair carries a 2-year workmanship warranty.
Recent job: shingle roof repair with new decking in Citrus Heights (95621)
During the repair: new 2×8 shiplap decking in the repair area.
1. The job
On this single-story shingle roof we removed the shingles over a repair area of about 100 square feet and replaced the damaged 2×8 shiplap wood decking underneath.
During the repair: new underlayment across the repair area.
2. How we fixed it
We installed new underlayment over the repair area and new composition shingles matched to the existing roof as closely as possible. At the electrical pipe that comes through the roof, we removed the shingles, put down new underlayment, sealed the penetration and tied new shingles back into the roof. Then we cleaned up and hauled away all the debris.

Common questions for a roofing contractor in Citrus Heights
How much does a roof repair cost in Citrus Heights?
Most of our roof repairs cost about $2,000–$3,000. Bigger problems, especially ones that have been left alone for a while, average around $5,500. The inspection is free, and you’ll get photos and a written quote the same day, so you know the price before any work starts. See our roof repair cost guide.
Do you repair shingle roofs, or only replace them?
We do both. If the rest of the roof still has life in it, we repair just the failing area: on recent Citrus Heights jobs that meant a leaking valley, a vent where a flat roof meets the shingles, and a section of damaged decking. See shingle roof repair.
Do you fix small flat roof sections?
Yes. On one Citrus Heights home we cut out about 50 square feet of old TPO around a leaking vent and the electrical pole, installed new TPO wrapped around the flashings and sealed it. See flat roof repair.
Do you fix dry rot?
Yes. When we open a roof we photograph every rotted piece of wood, like plywood, rafter tails, barge rafters or fascia, and replace it at a fixed price per piece from the same price list every time. New wood is primed. See dry rot repair.
How much does a new roof cost in Citrus Heights?
It depends on the size of the roof, how steep it is, and the material you choose. Our roof replacement cost calculator gives you a price range for your home in about a minute, and the 2027 cost guide shows typical ranges. $0-down financing is available.
Do you pull permits for roof replacements?
Yes. We pull permits for every roof replacement, and our production team handles the whole process: pulling the permit, scheduling the city inspections and getting the permit finalized. You don’t have to deal with the city.
Is the roof inspection really free?
Yes. If you own the home and are looking at getting your roof repaired or replaced, the inspection and written quote are free. We come out hoping to earn your business.
